The SR-71, also known as the Blackbird, was the United States' premier reconnaissance aircraft, while serving the Air Force from 1964 to 1998.  Flying at speeds of more than Mach 3 (three times the speed of sound), the Blackbird could fly from New York to London -- a distance of 3,500 miles -- in less than two hours.  At left, is one of only 32 SR-71s built.  Below is a video tribute to this amazing aircraft.
