The Georgia State Capitol, designed to resemble the
U.S. Capitol, is located in the heart of downtown. The
dome is gilded in gold leaf from nearby Dahlonega,
the site of the first American gold rush in 1830.
Trundle Trivia:  In the early 1970s, Anna's father
David, who was then a young Georgia resident, served
as a Page at the Capitol.
