Turner Field was originally Centennial Olympic Stadium which hosted
the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 1996 Olympics as well as
track and field events.   In 1997, the retrofitted stadium became the home
of the Braves and named after media mogul Ted Turner, the team's owner.
Turner once made himself manager of the team for a day before Major
League Baseball ordered the eccentric owner off the bench.
