The Carrier Dome is the home of the Syracuse Orange football and basketball teams. The domed edifice on the Syracuse University campus opened in 1980. It seats 49,000 for football and 33,000 for basketball.
The Carrier Dome is named for the Carrier Corporation, which made a sizable contribution toward the facility's construction. Despite being named for an HVAC manufacturer, the Carrier Dome does not have air conditioning.
