The Beau Rivage Casino Resort is the tallest building in the state of Mississippi. With 1,740 rooms, Beau Rivage, which means "beautiful shore" in French, is one of the largest casino hotels outside of Las Vegas. The casino opened in 1999 and was closed for a year after Hurricane Katrina and her 30 foot storm surge hit Biloxi in 2005. Today the casino is stronger than ever, one of the top performing properties for MGM Mirage.
