In a 4.2 mile stretch of road just beyond downtown there are 62,000 hotel rooms,

most of which are a part of massive casino resort complexes.  Fifteen of the world's 25

largest hotels are located on the Las Vegas strip, including (above) Caesar's Palace and

The Mirage, each with almost 4,000 rooms.  The first casino resort that opened on The

Strip, the El Rancho Las Vegas, boasted 110 room when it opened in 1941.
