700,000 people and the Anna/Dr Pepper can lined the 5.5 mile parade route
to see the 45 rose and flower laden floats and marching bands from across
the country including Kingsport (Tennessee) Dobyns-Bennett. Vin Scully,
the Hall of Fame baseball announcer, was the parade's grand marshal.
