Anna Across America - New Albany, Ohio

The snow is falling early this winter in New Albany, Ohio, a highly sought and charming suburb near Columbus. Founded in 1837, the village of New Albany is home to a number of notable "names":   Abercrombie and his pal Fitch, Bob Evans, Bobby Rahal . . . and Anna Trundle, who spent her formative years here and returns frequently to visit her parents.

During the holiday season or when the weather outside is frightful, one of the great wintertime drinks is hot Dr Pepper.   It was borne out of an advertising campaign in the 1960s which produced commercials like the one below.

Decades later, hot Dr Pepper has a small, but loyal following.  The recipe is deliciously simple.  Heat Dr Pepper in a saucepan to 180 degrees, place a thin slice of lemon in the bottom of the coffee mug or insulated cup and pour the heated Dr Pepper over the lemon.  (Source:  Dr Pepper website)
