Anna Across America - Atlanta (Where She Met The Dr Pepper Challenge)

The journey now takes us to Atlanta Georgia, home of the 1996 Olympics, the world's busiest airport, three letters that changed the planet (CNN), two Nobel Peace Prize winners (Martin Luther King and Jimmy Carter) . . . and a competition called the Dr Pepper Challenge that propelled Anna Trundle into a company's marketing plan before she graduated college.    We celebrate the one-year anniversary of Anna's participation in the Dr Pepper Challenge as part of the SEC Championship festivities.   It was a whirlwind, all-expense paid weekend for Anna that included limo rides, fine dining, 50-yard line seats for the SEC Championship game, and a $7,500 scholarship that started out as $2,500.    Despite a broken finger, Anna gamely competed in the challenge, winning the admiration of Dr Pepper with her attitude and character.  And she made "Anna Fans" -- from Starkville to Knoxville, from New Bern to New Albany and points in between -- proud of her accomplishments.

We would be remiss if we failed to report that Atlanta is the birthplace of another famous soft drink, Coca-Cola.  It was created here in 1886. . . one year after Dr Pepper.
